INSO demands implementationof Group Insurance Scheme

Press Release

Chandigarh, August 1: Indian National Students Organisation (INSO) has demanded implementation of 'Group Insurance Scheme' for the students of PU from this academic year as agreed by Vice Chancellor last year. INSO delegation led by PU INSO chairman, Sukhdev Kundu submitted memorandum here today.

INSO leader Sukhdev Kundu said that last year also, this matter was raised with the Hon'ble Vice Chancellor on July 4 & November 23, 2007, & Vice Chancellor Prof R.C. Sobti had accepted the demand of Group Insurance Scheme.

INSO leader said that this step would not cost much to the PU in terms of money but would go a long way to help in boosting the morale of student's community. This facility is already being provided to the teachers by university & students' community also deserved this facility. There should be no disparity and what is good and fine for teachers should also be available to the students, INSO memorandum said.

Insurance scheme is being implemented by many educational institutions and universities. When many other universities and educational institutions could start that scheme, PU can also do the same, INSO memorandum further added.
