OUR PROMISES

· Proper computer Laboratory with 100 computers studded with all the internet & facilities in University Library.
· Students will be given right to assess the performance of their teachers as per the UGC guidelines. This practice would provide more transparency and encourage impartiality.
· The students would not be asked to vacate the hostels till they complete their courses as it generally happens in the case of research scholars (M.Phil/LLM/ M. Pharmacy/M.Sc. Honours School). No extra charges would be charged from them.
· Students are not given opportunity to attend national/international seminars, conferences. INSO will ensure that all students get opportunity to attend those seminars as per the merit. All the invitations received at the university would be compulsorily available at the PU website on a designated student’s corner.

Constitution of Planning Committee of University shall be headed by D.S.W. with 2 Students as members. This Committee should be responsible for planning the future plans, needs of teaching blocks, hostels, laboratory, library facilities and more studies courses as per the requirement of the students community.

Lift charges for hostels to be abolished. No charge to be charged for lifts as it is basic requirement.

Concessional student passes on the pattern of Delhi Govt. where Rs.26 is charged per month for all bus routes.

Concessional student passes for students should be applicable in all the buses of CTU, Haryana and Punjab Roadways.

Framing of a uniform policy for allotment of hostel accommodation. All the lists of new admissions in hostels should be available at all the hostels and on PU website along with the percentage of the students. PU hostel policy should also be available on PU website, so that there is more transparency in hostel admissions.

Division of the hostel fees as well as hostel admission fees among those students, being forced to share rooms against their wishes or entitlement. All other hostel funds should also be divided among the students as they are using the facility meant for one student.

· Fundamental change in the revaluation system of the PU. The system has some inherent faults. PU Administration should refund the revaluation charges of student, whose marks get increased as it was not his fault that he was given lesser marks by the first examiner. Charges (if any are to be paid) should be paid by the first examiner, who gave lesser marks.
· Central University to PU with all the existing quotas for the university students.

Implementation of Group Insurance Policy for P.U. students from this year.

Separate hostel facility for research scholars.

· All the students enrolled under university should have the right to vote in PUCSC elections including ‘Department of Evening Studies’ students.

Recruitment of adequate number of Professors, Readers, Lecturers and non-teaching staff in various departments like BDS, Pharmacy, UIET, Law, MCA etc.

Solving the infrastructure problems of UIET & BDS campus.

Central placement cell, check on performance of departmental placement cells functioning.

Number of seats and scholarships for researchers from university side should be increased.

Organization of Job fests, sports fairs, Technology fairs, management fairs, pharmacy fairs, media fairs etc. on the university campus.

Priority should be given to P.U. students in all the new appointments to be given in P.U. and its colleges

Timely Stipend to all the research scholars

Girls should not be bound by the compulsion to eat at hostels mess. There should not be any fine for not eating.

Water coolers for all floors of girls hostel & in all blocks in Boys hostels.

· Implementation of election reforms for reducing the money and muscle power in students’ union elections.

· Appointment of lady Doctor at University Medical Centre. As there is no lady Doctor in the centre yet.

· No Fee Hike for students.

ACHIEVEMENTS (2007-2008)

· Fee structure was got rationalised in colleges. Earlier the different colleges charged different fee structures.
· No annual fee increase done in the year when INSO was in Council, which was earlier forced on the students every year. 5% hike was done by PU the previous year.
· Inclusion of students in many decision making committee related to students welfare.
· Daily allowance of the players increased.
· Participation of P.U. in almost every inter-varsity, Inter- Regional Tournament.
· New Gym for Girls.
· Improvement of facilities and purchasing of new equipments for multipurpose gym.
· WI- FI system in every hostel and related departments.
· Many job oriented courses started in P.U.
· Computer room in all hostels with internet connections.
· FEE started to be deposited in respective departments, earlier, which was only deposited in SBI earlier in long lines.
· Upgradation of existing laboratory facilities in sciences departments in terms of instruments and equipments, Rs 30 Lakh granted in this budget.
· Up-gradation of department libraries with the addition of new books, 48 Lakh granted in this budget.
· PhD courses started in almost all departments of the university
· Regular check ups of food and hygiene in every mess and canteen of the university & PU students council members.
· Organised job fest, sports fest, science fair at the university campus.
· Organised an anti ragging week from July 24,2008 INSO raised awareness against Ragging
· Pharmacy students were got delivered the pending stipend amount, which was pending for last ten months.
· PU Administration allowed improvement in papers to students of all the departments. Earlier this opportunity was not available for the students of certain departments like UIET and Chemical Engineering.
· Construction of sub-way to UIET and BDS Sec-25 Campus.
· Hostel facilities for BDS and UIET students being provided in the Sec-25 Campus only.
· Girls special buses for students.

PROMISES ACCEPTED BY PU BUT COULD NOT BE COMPLETED DUE TO INCOMPETENCY OF THE LAST STUDENTS COUNCIL

· Construction of four hostels for boys, four for girls
· Reading rooms facility for girls at Girls hostels.
· Implementation of Group Insurance Policy for P.U. students.
· Proper functioning of WI-FI system in all parts of every hostel and related departments.
· Geography and Psychology Master's Degree to be changed from Arts to Sciences i.e. M.A. to M.Sc.
· Proper functioning of Computer Labs of various departments.
· M.Phil. courses to be started in every department of the university.
· Provision of basic infrastructure and bathroom facilities in all the departments and hostels.
· University special buses to be started for morning and evening for students coming from Panchkula, Mohali, Pinjore, Kharar, Zirakpur etc.

Kudos to ur team work. Good manifesto.. Really a good team work. Make sure u fulfill all these promises after winning other wise students will count u like others.

u arent doing much in action.. u r too weak in law dept.. taking corrective measures in the 3 days at law dept... u might be strong at ur strong areas.. but u need to focus on ur week points too.. that will surely help.. u r doing a grt job by choosing a female to contest for presidential election.. whatever may be the result,, u r leading by an example..
